I think that sock line is more of a optical illusion. It's not that my legs aren't tanned, it's that the hair on my legs is laying down after wearing socks all day.
Even during the summer my legs don't tan well. I am a WHITE guy. My optomologist had told me that I have very little pigment. He was surprised how dark my hair is
